Description

The Freight Manager is responsible for the day to day management of existing and future distribution activity, delivering logistics management activities and to ensure customer programmes are met in a timely manner. Responsibilieies: Develop short and long-term strategies for all logistics service providers in your region. Monitor budget to reach the operational goals, and facilitate the collection and analysis of data to effectively measure and report performance. Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply. Consistently interact with regional key stakeholders and communicate changes. Negotiate commercial terms and contracts that are in compliance with existing internal and external regulations. Arrange for transport of cargo and agree rates where no tariffs exist, maximise cost effectiveness and ensure accounting deadlines are met. Contingency back up solutions in support of EMEA freight and 3PL business. Traffic control, consolidations and cost management of all freight. Document control, ensuring all shipping and freight documentation is 100% accurate. Proof of delivery management in support of customer service requirements. Summarising and interpreting reports for internal as well as external purposes. Requirements: Master Degree or equivalent in Materials / Freight Management or Logistics mandatory. Business studies as a plus. Multiple years’ experience in a regional transportation and logistics role with all modes of transport (Ocean, Air, LTL, FTL, etc) . Knowledgeable regarding Customs and Trade Compliance mandatory. Strong knowledge of transportation market including supplier base, general industry information and cost drivers. Highly proficient in spoken and written English, other European languages beneficial. Demonstrates integrity in business relations and business acumen. Ability to work as part of a busy team and on your own initiative. Ability to work as part of international teams. Working knowledge of ERP, WMS and Freight Systems.
